Hi! Got this deck after someone messed with it, the capstan belt was missing and was dirty as hell. Managed to get it all working but the auto stop mechanism is driving me nuts. I got it all on video so please take a minute to look into it, I’m running out of ideas. Could it be a missing spring somewhere? Loose gears or lever? The belts seem fine, not too tight, not too lose, the hubs have plenty of torque when playing and fast-forwarding/reversing the cassette. If I take the auto stop reel belt off all is working great except for auto stop of course. Thanks!
I got it working! It was the belt that was too loose and couldn't get enough grip to rotate the black wheel enough to get the mechanism to "restart" and loose up the stuck post. Whoo
