Hi there, At this moment i'm repairing a Sony WM-DD33 which has an issue with imbalance. My 315Hz level tape cleary show a differnce on the scope between left and right where the right channel is more louder. I have cleaned the volume pot with deoxit, demagnatised the heads, checked the tape path, adjusted the azitmuth with the proper test tape, but the difference stays. There is no option the change levels on the DD33 where older DD's have the option to do so. What are my options, change caps? I'm niot sure about that because the frequency response is still quite good. Thanks in advance, Roland Duursma The Netherlands
Update 4-2-2025: - Changed the head from another DD, no change - Took apart the volume pot and cleaned the brushes inside, this seems to make a difference. I think the pot needs replacement. Still not perfectly in balance but way better.
