image0 (1).jpeg image0 (3).jpeg Hi everyone! Do you like the TPR-990? This is how mine looks like after installing the Vu indicator light.I always wonder why in many boomboxes they didn't do scale illumination etc.In TPR-990 there is not even a switch to temporarily illuminate....

I'll take any AIWA TPR, the build, the looks and the sound quality all wrapped in a killer package. I'm sure there was a lot of design discussion on lighting and it just didn't make the cut on a lot of boomboxes. I've got an older Sanyo M Series doing daily duty right now and it surprisingly has a lighted dial that I think is on all the time.

I would consider this to be a really high end box - See the Tape selector switch with variable Bias selector.
Mine sitting for long, awaiting restoration, if at all that is possible!

I feel old, I was trying to remember if I have this one, I have two big ones out in the shop in the racks but just remember one of them. Good luck with your repairs, some of these are very complicated.

Yeah, the old 1970s assembly techniques can cause many headaches. :redface I have a bunch of the smaller TPRs but none of the big ones.
