Recently got a WM F-2065 off Ebay that had corrosion damage, trying to restore it

the damage from corrosion was corrosion on the mother board my Father who has lots of experience with consumer electronics, said it is Cleanable/Fixable, but a motor connection is loose, and Lead from the battery Terminal to the MB, corroded off, specifically the Flat end would Telephone wire work if my Father Soldered it from the battery terminal to the the MB? plus the Belt is perfectly Intact which is nice. (not sure if I can add photo's after posting this

 

Clean everything first, lots of cotton swabs "Q-tips" and alcohol, sure, copper telephone wire will work.

Yeah we have cleaned it with cotton and rubbing alcohol, soon my Father might grab acid brushes to get the corrosion that didn't come off with the Q-tips

 

So this is the Positive end the Connection is bridged and Stuff, but this is an Issue we have happened upon, this is underneath the DC power Connector
