Hi friends, nice to meet you all. I am hoping I can learn more about walkman repairs here, and talk to people who are also interested in them. I first got into cassettes and other portables back in 2019, when covid came and I was bored, so I dug around in the storage and found some old players my parents used to own, including a WM-102. Almost all of them were in need of belt replacement, so, after some research online, I bought the belts and replaced them. After some speed adjustments they played like new. That's what captured me, the fact they still work so good after this long. I've recently acquired a WM-D6 and it has some problems...and I'm looking for help regarding that as well in a separate thread. Anways, nice to meet you all again! Looking forward to talking with you all!
Welcome to the forum, it's a very addictive hobby especially when you start looking for tapes to play.
"And so it was that another disciple of the cassette tape had awoken and joined their ranks... the sky boiled angrily and there was much thundering and turmoil. Somewhere, something had slipped a tiny fraction, a tipping point of sorts had been reached in the geometry of consciousness. Soon a renaissance of the cassette tape would burst forth upon a reeling planet..." Nah just kidding. Oh yeah welcome to the forums!
Yeah, loving it so far. I did stray off from the path of cassettes for a bit and went into minidiscs but I eneded up coming right back. Something about analogue media just feels different. Nice meeting you!
