Well, 10 years ago I decided to get back into vinyl, and now I decided to listen to all my old tapes, and maybe make some new mix tapes . So I found a Sony WM-D6C serial 17xxx on a local marketplace here in Denmark. It was looking nice but the seller said that it stopped halfway during playback. It also came with at Sony 6V power supply (that will never be connected to the D&C ). Strap and leather case included. I got it and put some alkaline batteries in the box, and everything worked more or less perfectly. I decided to service it with new belts, just to be sure. And I don't know why, but now I have two more Sonys on my desk to be fixed I think they multiply somehow. One is a WM-F100, and the other is a Sports WM(can't remember the type).
Welcome to the forum, hopefully you have some repair skills, the D6 is very valuable and might be easy to break more in the wrong hands. Feel free to post any photos.
Welcome Kermitt, I diagnose you with walkmaniitis, its incurable but symptoms can be kept at bay with more walkmans to repair.
@Mister X Well, the worst part (for now) that I came into, was that the motor suddenly stopped working even that it got power , so I took it apart, and cleaned the commutator and "brushes", it looked like some of the glue that holds the end cap had broken loose (powder) and gotten in to the commutator. But now it is working great again
@T-ster I agree: I haven't even gotten parts for the two on the bench, but Im already looking for more
