Yesterday got myself an YP-ER11 for a staggering €5,-. Had heavy corrosion on the negative battery terminal. Cleaned that up, installed a new terminal and it is running fine again with a new belt. But... This YPPY uses the mainboard from the Sony WM-EX334 and the service manual for that is freely available at electrotanya, use google. Another fun thing is that the YPPY does have Dolby B but it is just not accesible from the outside like on the EX334 which has the Dolby switch on the backside.. Dolby switch and chip are factory installed on the mainboard.
Ok as far as i can see you have the YP-ES22, mine is the YP-ER11....which one do you have? I can see Sony changed a few things...on my YP the switch on the mainboard is installed as is the Dolby chip. I can see these are ommited in the YP-ES22. The Dolby chip should be top right corner just below the volume pot, there is an empty ic footprint. Sony even changed the graphics on the YP-ES22 to 'YPPY Mainboard', mine says WM-EX334 with no mentioning of YPPY. So to save cash on the later models Sony did omit a few parts, good to know. But that still is the mainboard of an EX334 thanks for the photo
