Typical Japanese, sidewalk display with thousands of dollars worth of electronics just sitting out. The Marantz PMS 6820 in the middle 2nd bottom shelf looks like it has red grills, maybe a silver case? I've only seen gold with a tan baffle inside the speaker grill.
A rare look inside the MD assembly process, there's a lot more human involvement than I would have expected in 2001.
There's some more factory photos over on 1001's Website https://www.1001hifi.info/2020/09/sony-walkman-1989-making-of.html
Mister X, I think with all hands on work Sony was able to have good quality control Since I was a authorized dealer and warranty repair business for Sony I had to take Sony training I have always held a high standard for Sony products . Sincerely Richard.
Do you have any "Authorized Tool Kits" you can share? I posted my Marantz PMD Repair Kit in the Marantz Thread.
Hello mister X, I will have too look when I am visiting my folks house where all of my factory sony service manuals and original parts are . I do miss the days of running my shop full time and doing Warranty work for some the top backs from RCA,Zenith Motorola,Sony and others .
It was from a company brochure, it kind of has a comic book look to it, not sure if that's a photo effect or it's really a drawing. That crane on the top looks like they're still working on the building.
Found over on X, wrestler Big John Studd with his new Conion! Check out all the boomboxes in this store, amazing!
My brains mush, I can't remember if I posted that review in the WA Thread? Just guessing but I'm going to take the Sony for the win, it was months ahead of anything else.
Hello mr X, I think I will frame a photo of that Panasonic factory to hang on the wall in my radio room . Autoreverse , I might have that Stereo review in my collection some where I really enjoyed that one I would keep a copy in my showroom of my repairshop for customers to read . I have done a lot hifi audio I am currently restoring a Realistic receiver made by Matsushita . Sincerely Richard
I think the original, better quality, version is on Archive.org but I can't remember for sure. Here's the PDF of the Stereo Review, most copies are on worldradiohistory.com https://www.worldradiohistory.com/A...iFI-Stereo/80s/HiFI-Stereo-Review-1981-12.pdf
Hello mr X, that is too funny because one the first ads is for Pioneer receiver that I have I also have it's matching tape deck Pioneer Sx-7 . Sincerely Richard
I've got one of those back in the shop somewhere, I think it's the SX-9 but can't remember for sure. I remember seeing another in a pawn shop for around $30 and thought that was too expensive, now they regularly sell for over $500 USD. I also have the matching TT but can't remember the model number, a higher version of the PL-500? I've been looking for the big tape deck for years but like all Pioneer they used to sell for nothing, now, silly money.
