Alpha-2 mechanism HS-PX30/303, HS-PX50/505, HS-PX900 HS-PL30/303, HS-PL50/505, HS-PL55/555, HS-PL70/707 HS-P50/P505 (mk I) HS-F50/F505 HS-JX30/JX303/TX303, HS-JX2000 HS-RL50, HS-RL70 HS-JL50/505, HS-JL30/JL303 HS-RX30, HS-RX50, HS-RX705 HS-WR70, Kenwood CP-R750 All the Alpha-2 mechanism walkmans share the grooved head with improved deep bass response. 2. 0ZM-4 mechanism HS-PX610, HS-PX710, HS-PX727, HS-PX910 HS-JX828, HS-JX929 HS-PL77/PL777 HS-RX727 HS-P75/P705 3. 0ZM-1 mechanism HS-RX610, HS-RX618, HS-RX-628, HS-RX626, HS-RX703 4. Alpha-1 mechanism HS-J50 5. Z-1 mechanism HS-PX20
Thanks for the info ! HS-PL55/555 has the Alpha-2 mech, there are pictures with it on the linked thread. Edited the first post adding all these walkmans.
Greetings,, would like to add, Aiwa, HS-WR70, A wireless headphones player, and the Aiwa HS-RX705 Kenwood CP-R750 Radio recorder also has the Alpha-2 mechanism.
Have an Aiwa HS-RX628 on the bench and this also has the grooved (HX?) head although this is not mentioned anywhere on the walkman itself nor on the original box.
Added this and the RX626 to the list, thanks for sharing ! HX head isn't always mentioned, likely because this head existed both in permalloy and amorphous versions. Can't find the RX628 online, can you add some pictures with it for reference ? Found an RX626 on walkman.land: https://walkman.land/aiwa/hs-rx626, which is likely similar to the 628. This has the 0ZM-1 mechanism.
Well it is the big brother of the RX610 i guess, already posted a comment there Main board of these is also used in the PX310/510...have a bunch of them on the bench as we speak....horrible cap leakage. https://walkman.land/aiwa/hs-rx610
