    Hi All,

I recently purchased the subject DAT unit but it looks like a few of the tape return gears have broken per attached pictures.

Does anyone have a great way of either sourcing new gears or at least some solution to fixing my unit?

It's part 161, it's labelled as “x-3373-742-1 limitter (mg) assy” in the service manual per attached pictures.

    Any advice/support is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,
The TCD-D100 is one of the most difficult models to repair because of this gear. I also have a few of these units and it is a question of time, until these gears break. Maybe Sebastian from https://www.proaudio-revival.com/ can help you. Be very careful, the electronics is electronics are very sensitive to short circuits and static electricity. Good luck.

    Hi!
I purchased replacement gears (magnetic clutch) at Taobao - and they are working great.
