    This is my new walkman
    Walkman 1.jpg
very good price - sellers declaration "New".
First test, ( how expected) - no function, but a rattling noise - the belt was very loose ( it`s described here in 2 threads, why, for example here : https://stereo2go.com/forums/threads/sony-wm-ex652-an-example-of-sony-over-engineering.3472/ .
But, because "New" means, all is fine working, seller at the end sends money to buy a new belt. Kind Guy.
I`m waiting for it, and i hope, the rattling noise is a normal sign for a missing belt, and not for more trouble.
Despite of placed rechargable battery, there was no damage,- but after trying recharge i can say it`s dead. OK. This was calculated.
I had asked the seller, if earbuds could be changed, he said "Yes" - but my question wasn`t correct enough - i meant, the earbuds from the remote ( I just can't get the hang of these little ear-buttons ) - so these can`t be changed with other headphones, because they are fixed, - but i can access the socket on the housing to plug in my Sennheiser In-Ear.
To be continued, when belt is installed.

I'd rather have banded headphones, I just don't like sticking them in my ear. Good luck with the project.

My Sennheiser are also banded, but when i wear the Sony Earbuds, i feel they don`t really fit properly, and much of the sound seems to get lost.

Today i`ve got the new belt, installed it - and i must say, the walkman works fine. Good Sound, without hearable W&F and ther`s no noise from parts and motor. Even the sound with the earbuds are better than expected, but nevertheless i will change with Sennheiser, better Bass... The only thing is - the walkman didn`t work only with my gumstick, taken from my Sharp-MD-Recorder. It`s declared as NiMH with 1,2 V and 1400 mAh ( like the original Sharp battery ). Sony for this WM describes a NC-6WM NiCd with 1,2 V and 600 mAh in the manual - could this be the mistake ? I`m now formatting the gumsticks with my Nitecore UMS2 - and try again.
To be continued, when gumsticks ready.

meanwhile... - it`s a hard job to format new gumsticks - first one wasn`t working with Walkman despite of showing 3 display bars ( full ) in Sharp. And after playing Sharp until gumstick was fully empty it wasn`t detected by the charger, i had to put it in more times. First full load with 100 mA brought only 190 mAh - so it also wasn`t working with Walkman. Now, after second Full-Empty-Play to discharge, and new fully loading charger shows 850 mAh and it`s still loading. Better. The second gumstick ( same problem with Walkman ) is in the Sharp to discharge ( since 10 hours ).
