Thanks for accepting me in this forum. I mostly enjoy reading threads concerning audio cassettes tape decks and boomboxes.
Welcome! We learned here that Athens is one of the best places to find super cool things at the flea market
Not really but if you search always you find something. A few days ado I found about 70 unopened RAKS audio cassettes. Not my favorite but that's not bad for 1 euro each. Here are some of them
It sounds like the flea markets there have dried up too. Never heard of that brand of cassettes, but it's always nice to have a good supply
tell me about RAKS tape Has Tony solved the TDK D True mechanism? I would definitely buy the story that TDK were giving RAKS of Turkey a go at manufacturing cassettes, Cyprus was used as a transfer point, then delivered to the US. TDK obviously didn't like the end product, so it seemed they bought in the FBI to confiscate and destroy them.
If you ask me everything is business as usual . Here is yesterdays find : Raks cassettes were (and still are) fludding the greek market .
RAKS are available but not for 1 euro each and not in shops. Only if they are forgotten there for years
Looks like Mr. Vox just needs to look harder Those Aiwa recorders are cool. Just a real nightmare to repair, in my opinion. My goodwill store find from yesterday: Sony WM-3000 with MDR-006. Still works like new. I got a discount because the limiter knob was broken, according to the staff, lol
Great score @Michiel rarely seen with MDR-006. What makes you say that ? Because this bunch of caps need replacement? Or is that difficult to dissasemble this pcb ... ... in order to replace the belt ? I have repaired in the past its Sony cousin but that wasn't so complicated.
