was doing a replacement of the pickup on this model of player since the symptom of the laser detecting a disc but not reading it and it spinning the disc over and over for the life of me I could not figure out. upon inserting the new pickup it did not work, which is a situation thats usual for someone like me, but when inspecting the parts of the pickup i found a few differences between the old and new ones. on the first image theres a bridge between 2 connections on the replacement's ribbon cable, which i assume is something to protect the ass'y from static electricity, a listing for this on aliexpress says something along the lines of that... aside from the difference in the one component missing next to the pot that feel like they shouldnt be worried about, I honestly do not know anything about it. If I lived in a world where I always were right I would have cut the bridge and it probably would work from that but obviously in here i got the assurance from you guys to figure out if that option would be the way to go.

feel free to give me suggestions on what I could most likely do to solve the problem on my recent RAE0142 purchase.

I've always had a hard time with old ribbon cables so I probably can't help. Which one is the new one, if it's the bridge cable, yea I'd cut that out but my skill set is limited.

The new one is on the right that's bridged. But yea ill guess ill have to keep on looking around till ill figure out the problem, or at the very least find out if ill keep the bridge intact. Forgot to tell this but I haven't thought out the situation well and just went into fiddling around with the pot on the 2nd image, it looked like it wasn't working because i couldn't see anything coming out of the laser so I jumped to that conclusion that it was set to a position where no power went to it, shouldn't be a big concern
