I recently picked up a WM-F10ii that's in good shape overall. I've managed to clean out the old belt goo and am working towards cleaning and lubricating as much as I can get to.
The supply reel felt like it had a lot of friction causing it to be stiff and get stuck at times.
I assumed this was likely problematic gears and or dried grease crud. So, I dove into pulling the motor out to get behind it. There's a couple screws I'm not confident I can remove without damaging the head so I think it's as far as I'll go with the disassembly of this part. In any case, it turns out the obstruction was resolved when I pulled things out enough to look at the teeth on the gears through the little opening at the bottom. The ribbon for the radio has a spot that looks like it may have been pushed in causing the issue. The supply reel now spins freely like the take-up reel does.
With the most evident mechanical issue out of the way I'd like lubricate and reassemble the player.

    Questions:
1, Should I dab and wipe grease onto the teeth for the reels through the little openings where the gears can be seen?
2, Would wiping the spindle for the motor with oil be enough? I'm assuming even the tiniest drop in the hole would be too much.
3, How does the tension flywheel come out?
4, Is the risk of damaging the capstan bushing worth removing it to lubricate the flywheel? Or can I get away with adding a tiny drop of oil to the bushing and wiggle the flywheel in and out to work oil onto the spindle (and cleaning the exterior of the capstan when done)?
    Cheers,
    Bob

If you're not confident in disassemblying the player, maybe it's best to skip the lubrication part entirely.
While this is not difficult for someone with mechanical skills, on the other hand it's something the vast majority of WM-10/20/30 owners and sellers will not do.

There are 2 important things that need to be done in regard to lubricating those models: motor and capstan bearings (note there are 2). But the most important aspect is the middle pulley on these models.
Here you have pictures with what it takes to get there and also solve the middle pulley problem: https://stereo2go.com/forums/thread...w800-middle-pulley-adjustment-tutorial.10999/

    Regarding your questions:
    1. No, teeth shouldn't be lubricated. That's true in general.
    2. Don't understand the question. Motor should be lubricated. On WM(F)10II/WM-30 the motor has a brass bushing.
You must remove the top cover, the disc over the coils, coils and then rotor can be removed. Note there is no shortcut to lubricate the motor without removing the rotor.
    3. Refer to the link above.
    4. Depends on your skill, but the risk is more about losing the retainer than damaging anything.
Also given that retainers will wear out if removed many times, it's best that when it's removed all problems are adressed at once.
