Following a whole afternoon of taking apart, putting back together and taking apart again a number of times, I can now say i finally have a fully working Sony PS-Q7! Changed belt and thought that would be it, but the arm would not move to the right place on the record on either size. Found out about the screw at the back to adjust it and tried it to the point it unscrewed completely but still no change! On taking it apart again i found the arm holding a little spring was broken so the arm could not be adjusted at all! So, had to take it apart even more to get that broken spring holder out. Fortunately my brain cogs were working, I had a PS-Q3 which cost me nothing and was not working either. Took that apart too and luckily the broken part on the PS-Q7 matches that of the PS-Q3! Further stripping and rebuilding followed and it's now all good! Sound good and it's sitting on top of my FH-909 where it should be. Slighty different colour in the light though. The FH-909 is black and the PS-Q7 a dark grey but it does all look good together. Bit of a sore back from leaning over it for hours but a great sense of achievement to see it working just as it should. Happy Holidays all!
Well done on fixing a very cool turntable...I have one too tho I can't remember whether it's a 3 or a 7
Well done thats a quality piece of kit and so nice to have fully working. Great job. Time to get drunk!
