I want to share a story with the community about how I saved walkman life and added it to my collection.

Recently I walked through the flea market and bought a Panasonic RQ-CR55. The seller said it doesn’t work.

Actually spindles spin correctly but music doesn't play. When I tried to switch the reverse button, the spindles didn’t spin.

When I put cassette, opened the front player’s door and pressed play, nothing happened.

The bad thing is, there aren’t any screws on the player's body. According to the service manual I hardly opened the player, unsoldered motor and navigation wires from the board to reach the tape transport mechanism.

I explored two belts, one lies on TTM, the second one lies on his correct position but both of them too stretched.

I recorded 3khz on my Panasonic RQ-L11 and picked up the most compatible belt for my RQ-CR55.

After assembling the player and cleaning the plastic, now everything is ok and the player feels good. New position in my collection!
