GK Design Works still in business https://www.gk-design.co.jp/works/794/ The image of sound spreading in various directions is expressed through the humorous arrangement of large and small circular speakers. The exquisite combination of acoustic technology and design has resulted in a user-friendly device that allows you to enjoy a space filled with sound.
I found this on Twitter so I had to look up the builder Baek-San Electronics (Korea). https://museum.seoul.go.kr/archive/...0&mcseqno2=00000&cdLanguage=KOR#layer_exhibit It looks like they went out of business in 1991.
The Emerson that looks kind of like this is actually a very nice unit and very heavy. I believe it is also from Korea.
The Sony CFD-DW95 comes up alot, over here we call them "eggs" but the Japanese call them "bubbles." I think bubbles also applies to the same brand stacks of audio equipment. I've been watching translated YouTube Videos from Japan, oddly there's very few people with audio experience. It seems like there's the handful of old retired guys and then the younger crowd that has little knowledge of the gadget days of the 70's-90's. I've mentioned it before, the city homes are very small and there's no room for storage, if they quit using it, it goes out to the curb. Remember ARKAY in Hong Kong? He was finding 2-3 grails a week but had no place to keep them, his one and only photo was him peaking inside his storage locker, I think Radio Heir took the photo on his visit.
Popeye, 1989 The Sharp Twincam on the top right is so nice looking, anybody have one of these high-end Sharps?
