with his NAGRA III in the movie " Blow Out " from 1981, and after reconstructing the scene to a film sequence from a frame-per-frame-picture-story, adding the own-recorded sound, he`s able to prove an assassination attempt.

In the film there still are some other monitoring tools, for example from his previous job as a surveillance specialist ...

...and from a method to monitoring his telefon conversations :

The film's title alludes to Antonioni's *Blow-Up* starring David Hemmings, in which the protagonist discovers a murder by repeatedly enlarging ( called Blow Up ) a photograph taken in a park.
In both movies the way to discover the crime is shown very nuanced, precisly accomplished.
Movie is recommended to all, which like analog record stuff, precise jobs, and may be - John Travolta ;-)

Sorry for quality of the picture stuff - movie, i have, doesn`t allow higher resolution - anyway - have fun.
