Interesting model. Don't have a 3,5 jack headphones exit.

Very nice! Great collection, Boodakhan made a replacement window a few years ago but I can't remember what model it was for you'd have to search some of the old threads.

It was my first new boxed Walkman I've bought in 1998. Price was near 70$. Looking on signs of wear it was used mega frequently. The first great impression was made with cassette Mylene Farmer, concert Live a Bercy. It was very amazing!

You collection looks to be similar to mine (or maybe @CDV 's).
I definitely have a boxed WM-FX491 and probably have a few of the others.
They are (were?) far easier and cheaper to find than the exotic models.

You may have heard of U.K. retailer Argos who had about 500 shops all around the U.K.
This is what they had in their catalogue in 2000.
Even if each shop only sold one of each model each month that is over almost 140000 units sold in one year.
Back then I actually bought that £14.99 Aiwa in a different shop (WH Smiths Newsagents) as it was such a bargain
for a unit with Dolby. One belt change later it still works well.

The 2000 Argos Catalogue also had three pages of Personal CD players, two pages of MiniDisc Players, but not a single mention of MP3 or Apple.

This was the most expensive, top of the range phone in the same catalogue

I wonder if that idea for Mobile Internet will ever catch on :hmmm

Issue with this model is usually bad capacitors/audio/no audio issues. Which is why you see so many of these for sale. I have one in my parts bin. Would be nice to get it working some day. :)
