Hello everyone. Does anyone know about this device? I saw it at a shop in my area. It looked almost as clean as brand new. No issues, all functions work. Price 80 dollars. Is it worth buying? I've heard that cassette decks with some features can have chronic problems. I have read on reddit before, if I remember correctly, some brands' devices with auto reverse feature are not recommended.
A bit of Googling will find you some reviews http://www.tapeheads.net/showthread.php?t=50160 I'm not sure about the price. It all depends on what else is available locally. The price in other countries is probably irrelevant as shipping could be $40
Thanks for the link. As far as I understand It is not a bad device, but some parts are of poor quality. I've read another article that doesn't recommend aiwa's auto reverse cassette decks. I think I can find a better model for $80-$100. I opened a topic for walkman before. While looking for a Walkman, I found a boombox (Hitachi 3d7) and bought it. Now I have both a walkman and a boombox. Next is to buy a cassette deck with recording feature. My max budget is $100 excluding shipping. (I will try to find it in my country) There are too many cassette deck vendors in my country. I will make a list of devices that can be bought. I will share this list in this topic. Your recommendations are important to me. I'd also like to hear if there's a specific model you'd recommend
folks at our sister chatroom tapeheads.net say a lot of nice things about Yamaha decks. Personally, when choosing my stereo toys I avoid the companies which also make refrigerators and motorcycles. Yamaha decks and Sony Discmans are probably the only exception to this rule. Cheap 2-head Nak deck would be the safest choice, but as @Longman mentioned you have to factor in your local sellers. I got my Yamaha KX-330 locally for ~$50 (with remote and Yamaha CD spinner thrown in the same box). Your Q from another thread: go with turntableneedles belt, the guy is solid and belts of excellent quality. I do not waste my 'hard-earned' three-to-five bucks on Chinese belts any more. BUT. Personal experience matters the most, and maybe your luck will be better than mine...
