This thread covers the repair of clutch on the AIWA Alpha-2 mechanism.
    This mechanism is found on the following units: HS-PX30/303, HS-PX50/505, HS-PX900, HS-PL30/303, HS-JX30/JX303, HS-RX30, HS-PL50/505, HS-F505, HS-JL303, HS-PL55/555.

There is a separate thread about units having this mechanism, so if you have any new ones to mention, do it here: https://stereo2go.com/forums/threads/aiwa-alpha-2-mechanism.9629/#post-76999

For the repair you will need 0.25mm diameter copper wire. Steps are as follows:
    1. Disassemble the old retainer and search for the broken jaws in the mechanism and remove them. You can discard the retainer, it won't be of any use.
    2. Clean the assembly and put spring back on the assembly.
    3. Add 3 small wires to hold the clutch spring compressed. Adjust tension so that spring is flush with the rest of assembly.
    4. Test the assy in the mechanism. Pushing it all the way down should NOT compress the spring. If it does, wires need to be tightened more.
    5. Add a tiny bit of oil underneath the spring, where it's rubbing against the plastic.
