My tech guru sent me this link for a black plastic gear to repair the cracked original on DD Walkman. Its black and has flip securing toggles like the original but the listing does not indicate how the gear is fixed and secured to the metal support ring. I have tried different gears. There are 3 type of gears available in the market: 1- a simple one piece plastic gear that you need to glue it to metal disk 2- a different one piece plastic gear that doesn't need glue but house the metal disk inside with a some type of pressure applied to the disk, and disk supposedly snaps in the plastic gear. both of the above gears are faulty and not recommended for professional use. no matter how you install it will give you trouble 3-THE ONLY ONE THAT WORKS FINE IS THE ONE MADE BY @mihokm
Yes it's the only one I have used in about 10 Walkman to date and there are no issues with them. I just wonder why these others have appeared because the fixing system of the main gear to the metal ring is the issue with anything other than Marian's system.
