I found these 2 albums, Spagna and Kim Wilde which apparently caught my attention because of the inner cassettes itself. Can anyone verify these are limited edition, these tapes are issued for Indonesian market with certified true copy label. I have searched through the internet the specific albums and don't see the same cassette design being sold.
No, these are not limited editions Ken. They are quite common case designs for us in the Indonesian market. These are from the dawn of the proper licensing eras, late 80's-early 90's. But that's as much as I can tell you right now. I don't know what blank cassettes they're using back then, I'll have to do some snooping around. Edit: I just reread your sentence again, and I think I misinterpret in a bit differently. I think what you mean is that "Are these limited edition copies of these albums?" In a sense, they are. Limited to the Indonesian market, that is. But the cassettes (cases) themselves, no. They are use extensively for various local releases by local labels. The Spagna cassette would be a good example. They were made by King's Records Indonesia. A used-t0-be pirated label that turned into a licensing label in 1988. They would use a generic unmarked cassette blanks/case for many albums, hence the generic information printed) while licensing information for that particular album would be printed on the j-cards.
Thanks @Stuck in Time for the insights and details. I think I will continue to source more of these tapes from Indonesia.
