Came in a bundle - check out this beast!

    Unisef TU-502 'mini' tape recorder
    Made in Japan - late 70s ?

Weighs a ton - partially working, capstan turns, reels don't. FF RW okay

May repair or sell - or swap if anyone collects these behemoths!

not sure if it's Stereo or Mono - or if I should even refer to it as a Walkman...

Unisefs have nice build quality and make nice shelf queens but for some reason they didn't make a splash in the market even though they were an early contender. The amazing thing is how much smaller the Walkman is, those guys must have pulled all of their hair out to get them so compact. On top of that they're mechanically fastened together, I wonder how much of them had to be hand assembled.

If your a profectionist you'll notice the screws in the Unisef are all facing the same direction, now that is art if it was done at the factory.

this is a monoural unit. there was also some stereo units with the Unisef-label but they‘re different - more like a Cloneman (but isn‘t)
