The BLAUPUNKT C-150 Stereo Electronic Cassette Deck, released in 1979, stands as a testament to Blaupunkt GmbH's foray into the realm of cassette decks and receivers. Known primarily for its success in manufacturing car audio gear (by 1979 they already produced 25 million of the Blaupunkt car radios), the company extended its expertise to produce this high-performance stereo cassette deck, showcasing innovative features and Japanese precision.

The cassette deck has a modern silver style and is 43.5 x 18.0 x 25.0 cm. It weighs a sturdy 7 kg. A well-considered innovation, the soft-opening cassette flap is easily removed for maintenance, making it simple for users to clean the tape heads. German-Japanese cooperation is reflected in the construction quality, which guarantees robustness and lifespan.

Equipped with a 2-motor drive, the C-150 ensures smooth and reliable functionality. The Dolby NR noise reduction system enhances audio quality, minimizing unwanted hiss and improving overall playback. The automatic tape limit switch adds a layer of convenience, streamlining operations for all functions.

The transmission range caters to various tape types: Type 1 Normal (30 Hz - 15 kHz), Type 2 CrO2 (30Hz - 16kHz), and Type 3 FeCr (30Hz - 16kHz). Synchronization fluctuation is impressively minimal, measuring < 0.2%. The Signal-to-Noise (S/N) ratio, with Dolby® Off/On, varies for different tape types, providing flexibility for users to optimize audio playback.

The user interface is well-designed. Electronic tap buttons for record, pause, play, stop, fast rewind, and forward offer logical and smooth operation. Additional controls include memory, Dolby® activation, automatic rewind, repeat, eject, tape type selection, and a 3-digit counter with a zero button for precise navigation. A combined 2-channel locking potentiometer is for variable right/left control during recording.

The LED displays on the C-150 include a 2-channel level display with green and red LEDs, the function displays for recording, playing, and pause. These displays contribute to a user-friendly experience, providing clear feedback on the deck's status.

The C-150 offers various connectivity options, including power, headphones, a microphone, and a record/playback cable, catering to diverse user preferences and applications.
