This is my first project since 6pm on November 9 when I lost my house to the Woolsey fire. All my collections of CDs, LPs, Naim Audio/Linn equipment, books, orbs, Discmans, plastic jet models, Leica microscopes, etc etc...absolutely everything is gone................

And then Miracle happened! My neighbor @Boodokhan invited me and my Boss into his home, and even provided me with some easy projects to keep my "idle hands" busy and to keep my mind off disturbing thoughts... I have very strong suspicions that @Boodokhan is actually an Angel, no one ever been so kind to me, not in this life!

Here is my "comeback" story of an easy fix for a broken antenna. NewOldStock Casio CK-200 got its antenna dislodged the moment it was pulled out of its retaining clips.

Six screws and four quick-disconnects later the problem revealed:

Paper-thin piece of plastic is all that kept antenna attached to the case... In the absence of my stashes of tools and polystyrene sheets we revert to the good'ol'trick of using CCs, polystyrene glue (and my all-time favorite tactical folder: MercWorx Lachesis):

24 hours later, once plastic pieces got "welded" together the piece got reinforced by generous amounts of epoxy glue:

Hole drilled and adjusted to the correct size with round file:

    Mission Accomplished:

I was wondering what happened to you, unfortunately I just found out the other day a co-worker and good friend of mine had a tragic accident and took an unexpected turn for the worse, I thought he was just recuperating and taking it real easy. The good news is your still around and posting!

Let me know if you need some crusty boxes and walkmans to work on, I can put together a care package, maybe throw in a Technics player and receiver and some Journey Albums.

Jorge that's terrible, I wondered where you had been. The one good thing is you are still here, things can be replaced but people can't.

Great work on the Casio, as Mister X said I have lots of projects here if you need some! Just let me know and I will wing a box to you.

I wish you all the Best

So sorry to here about the fire Jorge. There has been lots about it on TV over here but I never thought it would affect a member of Stereo2Go.

I hope that you have a decent insurance policy on the house. After a minor problem here I was looking at my policy and they seem to think that they think "new for old" is the answer to everything. Quite how that works with 95% of the stuff we talk about here I don't know.

Glad to see that you are safe and still posting on here, as others have said, possessions can be replaced but people can't.

That's an awesome little box, never seen anything like that before!

It is very sad to see somebody lose everything in the fire specially if that person is your friend. Jorge lost everything in this tragic event that is officially California most horrible fire in its history. Thankfully Himself and his family are safe and as as T-ster mentioned things can be replaced.

It took 3 years searching for a brand new CK-200 and finally I found one in Germany. As soon as I received it tried to test the audio and just by puling the antenna noticed that I broke the base plastic that holds the antenna to the main unit. I cannot believe how fragile antenna compartment is in this unit. So I completely ruined my day. I discussed this issue with Jorge and he offered me his help as usual. I am very lucky to have such a great friend.
