I know of a few attempts at cartridge tape formats intended for entertainment. If anyone can tell me where I may see catalogs for one or more of the following, I appreciate it!

    1. RCA format 1958-64
    2. Orrtronics (not the 8 track, the early 1960s format using Cousino type cartridges)
    3. Revere-Wollensack They manufactured a 'juke box' cartridge tape format in the early 1960s where you could have tapes play for 15 hours without having to change anything. The tapes looked like Playtape tapes
    4. Muntz 4 track 1962-70. This is the format killed by the 8 track cartridge
    5. Playtape late 1960s.

    Have you looked at
    https://obsoletemedia.org/audio/magnetic-tape/

On Youtube Techmoan has covered quite a few including one my Father bought.

I suspect the shop saw him coming although he did comment that it was cheaper than any of the Philips cassette recorders.
