Maybe not but I picked this up for cheap thinking that it was a nicer Sanyo since Craig had private labeled a lot of their early equipment. Since this unit has a radio, there is an FCC Number on the back which lead to the discovery that it was made by ASAHI in 1983. It's kind of funky fresh with the sliding volume and the lights give it a more quality look. Overall, not a bad looking unit, I might have been tempted back then since most Walkmans were out of my price range.
