hey guys, I recently got an AIWA deck that needed belts (melted as always) after cleaning it I noticed the motor was hard to turn, so plugged it in, no movement what so ever,

I remember awhile ago I read somewhere that we can oil these motors, so I thought maybe that’s what this one needs,

What are your thoughts , any experience on something like this? Help much appreciated .

I had same problem with 2 different BM-12 walkman and both issues resolved by lubricating the motor and manually turning it and now both work fine

Yeah also had the same issue with 2 TCM-600's both worked after lubrication, but I have had boomboxes with stiff motors and they were actually burnt out due to the melted belts stopping them turning, hopefully yours just has dried up bearings and some lube will free it up.
