Hey all, I introduced myself in the other forum. I have a DC2 on the way from Germany. It’s in working condition but needs some TLC (usual gear issues etc). What I’m wondering is, you barely see this model come boxed, so I’ve never been able to find out what model headphones they came with? Does anyone know? I get they could be garbage compared to other models, and are probably way overpriced for their SQ, but the collector in me is still curious to have a set.

    Cheers!

I am sure it came with the same headphones as the D6C which was a MDR-51.

I did sell a DC2 a while ago with the original box.

Is that the red box posted on here somewhere? Google images picked it up but I couldn’t see the model number on the headphones. Had a feeling it might have been the 51’s though.

A member did post his DC2 with the box about 2 weeks ago.

Here is an old thread with a DC2 and headphones pic on it.

yup i understand why you may want them but all this type of headphone is totally garbage............would buy all the cheap walkmans in my youth as i was to interested in boomboxes, the original headphones went in the bin and always spent about 50 60 pounds upgrading the cans lol good luck on you're quest

Yeah, they’re definitely not a priority as in daily listening, but be nice to have the OG to go with the unit. Probably gonna get some Porta Pro’s or PX100-II’s for normal listening..

keep away from porta pro, way way overated.....i can recommend beyerdynamic dt990 32 ohm for the job, you can easily pick up a pair for 100 pounds these days

Hearing lots of conflicting reports about the PP’s, but figured I should give them a go. Can always sell em on. Those DT990’s look legit, but too bulky for me. Prefer a low-profile set..

The Porta Pro's are a classic and not overrated, PX100-II are also good if you are looking for headphones on the cheap. At around the £30 mark, you cannot beat the Porta Pro and PX1oo-II's

you should see my big cans....sony xb 1000 there about 1 foot each side of you're head lol the dt's are slimline and lightweight compared to those lol maybe some good in ear phones might fit the job but i can't recommend any as i find them uncomfortable, im sure you will find some though, good luck

I had 3 pairs, i couldn't give them away as nobody liked them.....one thing comes to mind though was the clarity bright and sparkling so for 30 maybe give them a go

But Radio Raheem, I know what you like. You are a bass monster, even though I think the Porta Pro’s are bass heavy they are still not enough for you. :loldiag:

If you have any more Porta Pro’s to give away, send it my way.:nwink:

Seen a couple of 51’s on eBay but they seem damaged. Are they prone to snappage? Both auctions seem to suggest the speakers are working fine...
