It was time to give my lovely Audeze LCD2's a bit of a wash and brush up and as such the pads were removed and put in the washing machine on a gentle cycle at 20 degrees. I do this once every so often and especially if I think any of my headphones pad sets are looking a bit shabby. It doesn't do them much harm, especially if you throw in some t-shirts etc to soften the blow and prevent them getting bashed around too much. The minor caveat to this however is that if you have any pads with a soft cotton surface, such as the Dekoni Elite Hybrids then they 'pil' very easily on contact with other cotton items. I learned to live with this until I remembered that someone, years ago, had bought me one of those utterly useless gadgets that you will never ever use that ends up languishing in a drawer somewhere for years...or so I thought! What a revelation this useless gadget has been in dealing with the Dekoni pads pilling issue! lol So, if your pads ever suffer this phenomenon then invest in the handy 'Sweater de-fuzzer', available in all good christmas crackers and relatives' ill thought-out christmas gift lists everywhere! I'll never get that time back! ..and neither will you after reading this post! Before and after
I was expecting you to say you put them in a delicates wash bag like this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402666727105 Maybe that would stop the pilling.
I think they would definitely help! So, can you vouch for the effictiveness of these wash bags? Do your 'delicates' come out of the wash nice and pil-free then Longman?
