Hi there! I've published a new video showing how good a commercial pre-recorded tape can sound using the proper system. In this case the signal path is: 1- Madonna's 1984 cassette (CrO2) 2- Nakamichi CR-7A 3- JVC NR-50 Noise Reduction Unit When I was younger, most of the times I gave up on enabling Dolby because it just didn't sound right...I wish I'd had this components back in the day! Hope you find the video interesting Regards! Francisco
Watching your vid the other day made me go dig out a few Madonna albums. Dress you up, is my favourite track on Like a virgin. I dug them out on LP and also played the cassettes, my Like a virgin did not sound as good on cassette. I posted what I was playing here in the LP section.
1984 was a great year for music, it might be kind of poppy but there was so much released and it stood the test of time. I like that noise reduction unit, I love getting the accessories and messing around with them, it's part of the fun with vintage equipment.
