I have had a mint sony walkman wm-D3 for some time but I wonder if they did ever make a D3 in this rare style with green led`s and green recorder button? I cant find any solid info on it but what I do find out is that it was made others walkmans that did have some minor change if it was a limit edition rare version. Hope some one know this info. It wood be nice to know if this was real made like this by Sony and if it is a extreme rare item, or if this is just a mod on it. But it seems to perfect to be a mod made. It have green sticker with sony logo, green button, 5 green led light identical led as the red that is on the other version of this. Hope some know. I did post a picture for you all to look.

No, this is not standard. During a service or repair, you can ask the technician to replace the LEDs. There are also DC2 examples floating around. No added functionality.

I agree with @Emiel on this. In your picture the LEDs look much brigther than the original ones, I even see light bleeding in the counter window.
Then another tell-tale sign is the green "It's a SONY" sticker. From what I know all the original ones are orange, so this might explain a potential mod, where all 3 aspects were modified: LEDs, rec button and added sticker.

How does the solder on the LED legs look like ? It's fresh or old ? Also, if the LEDs were to be green from the factory, I would expect to see different value series resistors, as the voltage drop on LEDs varies with color. Is that the case ?

I have not looked inside it yet it is looking in mint condition so I only open it if importen to fix. But I send you some picture of the red version so you can try look in the led window but when it is off or use the led in daylight outside the green is only tiny bit stronger. And yes it is the same with the green leds. When power go down so do the led and when it is close to stop led get more weak and go out almost same time as the player stop playing. Same as the red leds on my other D3. I did start thinking since the led light is little bright. It allso may be that a resistor is failing so the led get more power then they shud? I gues only one way is to look inside for that.

I remember that a number of them were offered on E-Bay a couple of years ago and they were modded by the seller, including the green sticker(!!).
