Hello, I am currently working on a DD100 with a defective main board (dolby board is ok). I managed to get a working DD2 board because it should be almost identical. When searching the forum I saw the following message from Renzgi posted a couple of years ago: http://stereo2go.com/forums/threads/boodo-khan-tape-head-solder-question.2731/ That with the DD2 board can already be. I have already repaired two pieces DD100 in which I have exchangaed the defective DD100 board for a DD2. There are DD2 boards that are almost identical. Even the solder pins for the DOL cables are available. But must three pieces of resitance additional soldering (solder pin available) And you have to cut through two interconnects...... Your wiring on the head is correct. The fourth pin over yellow must be connected to the yellow one. (Bridge) I tried to contact Renzgi but he did not respond. My question is if someone can help me with switching these boards. I noticed 2 resistors in the service manual of the DD100 and some differences in the tracks around the volume pot. Also I cant find the service manual of the DD2, can someone share this with me please? Thanks.
Please see my DD portables overview thread @tomtom87 , I posted the DDII service manual earlier today.
Yes tomtom87 very likely that you can do ... the only difference is the central part of the scheme of the dd100 ... the DOL card the two resistors 118 and 218 join the output audio signal on the right and left channels and send it to the Dol
Please let us know your findings. The DDII would be great with a simple bass expansion circuit, closing the gap with the DDIII.
but electronically they are similar .. adding the two resistors to the main circuit is very simple .... then you cut and connect the tracks involved for the connections to the Doll board .... This is if you change the DD100 board ... .a posteriori to modify the DD2 in addition to the two resistors, the Doll circuit must be built
I have found the schematics (in the service manual). Can anyone post detailed pictures of the DOL board? The ones I can find show a stacked PCB - see Marian's how to fix a DD tutorial for shots of the PCB for instance.
