Hi there, Been testing out some of my recently refurbed Walkmans and they seem to be making an unpleasant scratchy noise when fast forwarding with tapes that they didn't before. I know there will always be noise from the mechanism but I was wondering if this is down to incorrect belts or if there is a need to apply lubrication inside? Thanks! I have temporary Chinese belts in there but have ordered the correct ones which are coming shortly.
Just thinking about it now some of these Walkmans also seem to be experiencing quite a bit of wow and flutter, think some capstan bearing lubrication might be needed.
