    There are many personal collectors like this in India. Even younger generations.
    Here is one:


    The interesting part is, none of these boomboxes were sold in India in the 80's due to restricted markets to foreign companies.
    All the Japanese units what you see must have been brought by the natives who were working in the middle east, many carrying these in their hands as cabin luggage!

    I can't understand a word of it but I love the passion. It's interesting how many blinged out National Panasonics he has, I love those speaker trims which rarely showed up over here.

    These were the units sold in the Middle East (UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar etc.).
    All of them will be multi-voltage as well (110V to 240V, 50/60 Hz selectable), since these countries are having different voltages as well as the majority of buyers were expats from all over the world.
