    Hi
    I have just registered.
    I am 50 something
I used to restore music centres from the 70-80s.
before moving onto boomboxes and now I’m hooked. I particularly like the big Sharp boxes and have a soft spot for the ones with built in turntables. I currently have three Sharp VZ 2000s in various states of repair.
I enjoy all aspects of restoration from the electronics to case work. I even have a couple of 3D printers for making replacement parts and have even completely resprayed cases as I found a way of making my own decals and labels that look pretty close to the originals. looking forward to sharing

here is a picture of my Sharp GF767 that my son bought me for Christmas, I haven’t done anything with it yet, but on my list to restore.

Welcome Huffers! Guys on the forum love replacement products if your selling any of them. What is a music centre?

    Hello Huffers

You might like this thread http://stereo2go.com/forums/threads/sharp-vz-2000.2044/

I did eventually get a VZ2500 but it is awaiting restoration

@Mister X . I had to look what they were called in the USA.
In the UK everyone would have called this a Music Centre.

They were the height of fashion in the 1970s with even Bang & Olufsen making them.

By the mid 1980s they were though of as old fashioned and were replaced by stack systems.

p.s Funnily there is a Sharp Music Centre just below the VZ2500 in the thread I linked to above.

Hi. Many thanks. Sorry didn’t think that the term music centre was specific to the UK.
In terms of parts don’t have anything that I am selling at the moment but will certainly bear that in mind. I am currently perfecting 3D printed replacement sliders for the VZ2000.

It's very common for those to break, mine needs one. We had a member a few years ago making replacements, I think he was casting his with resin but there's definately a market although you won't get rich doing it.
