Hi there, I’m new to this forum though not new to collecting vintage hifi and other gear. Of relevance to this site is that I have just bought a KT-SV1 Walkman-type unit, dates from 1982, brand new old stock. New belt fitted, but I’ve got a split in a tiny gear under the rewind spindle, so that’s my next repair job! Glad to have joined here anyway. I used to have an AKAI PJ-33 boombox back in 1986, which was superb. Any members still have one?

Welcome. I was thinking I have a PJ-33 somewhere in the garage, but it is actually a PJ-35. Looking at pictures I think the main difference is that the PJ-35 has a 5 band graphic equaliser. I bought mine in very poor condition for about £5 without speakers in about 1987. Surprisingly it all worked once I had fitted the control PCB back into the top panel. The cassette door was my own creation and why the photos were taken.
