I purchased a Sony WM-EX658 Only issue is it plays too fast... Is this an easy fix or return for a refund? seller had refurbished it.... Thanks
Hello and welcome to the forum, Foxy! The issue is relatively easy to fix, there is a potentiometer inside of the unit that can be turned similar to a screw. Clockwise to increase speed, and counter-clockwise to decrease speed. Depending on the belt kit installed by the refurbisher, the speed will change after initial installment and the potentiometer need to be adjusted. This adjustment can easily be accessed by removing the top of the unit, the side with the buttons. This is done by removal of the screws on each side of the unit. You can either use your judgement and a favorite tape to get the speed right, or you can use a tutorial I wrote for another site: https://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?t=98329 When you end up putting the unit back together, make sure the plastic switch sliders still attached to the removed front panel line up with the actual switches on the circuit board.
and get some JIS screwdrivers, I'm really happy with my Vessel Set. JIS is a little different than off the shelf Philips, those little screws might cam-out with Philips, where you can't turn them because you've destroyed the + on the head of the screw. A cheap investment and a must have for anyone doing repair work. https://www.amazon.com/VESSEL-preci...sel+jis+screwdriver+set&qid=1606589394&sr=8-8
