    Hi,

Back in the early 2000's I studied Music Technology and as such accumulated a reasonable amount of recordings on cassette and MiniDisc

Wanting to listen to them and digitize the audio, I purchased an Aiwa cassette player "Walkman", one thing led to another and suddenly I have another 3 Sony cassette Walkmans and a Denon deck.

Not only have I started digitizing my old recordings, I have also taken to repairs and maintenance with the latest addition being a WM-R202 (currently enroute from Japan).

I have experienced the same interest with personal MiniDisc players / recorders / NetMD's.

Something so simple has spiraled and the time has come to join one of the forums that has helped me so much with this newfound interest.

    Jim

Hi f13, I'm a newcomer myself. You mentioned Aiwa and Mini-Disc in your post and it triggered a memory. I remembered that I had (or might even still have) an Aiwa portable Mini-Disc player. My pre-recorded MD music is mostly gone (foolishly given away) but I still have two discs I found (Aerosmith and Suicidal Tendencies). I don't remember selling or recycling the player. Thanks for the flashback and welcome aboard.

Welcome! Yep it's addictive but since they still play music, it's a major bonus. I was one of those people benefitting from tossed collections, I'm sure over 1/2 of my record collection was freebies.
