Some of the newer members might not have heard of Jack Berg, he closes out NOS stock including vintage boomboxes. I think Cassette2go actually visited him years ago and confirmed he's legitimate. I was trying to find more information on a box Walkman Archive saw at a flea market, Jack has NOS versions for sale. http://www.jackbergsales.com/electronics/sharptri-mate1000.htm
That one is in the 1980 Argos catalogue A lot more than $200 if you take inflation and exchange rates into account.
No battery option, it's still an interesting unit that would look great behind you if you were cassette DJ'ing
Has anyone ordered from Jack Berg Sales recently? The website is still up and lists various NOS boomboxes for sale.
I have just been browsing and it is more tempting than JAUCE If buying from the U.K. was more convenient I would definitely go for a new Casio LC78 calculator. Back when they came out they were £25. I still remember some kid bringing his Dad's into school and commenting "I bet you wish you had a calculator like this". I did a quick eBay search and wonder if people are flipping these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394637425385 Unfortunately, for me the postage is as expensive as the calculator.
