Howdy folks, I'm trying to get my dad's Hitachi trk8200 singing again after decades of storage. Im not getting any noise from the left channel in either line In or radio. Although it does work from tape. I'm able to get the left channel working however when I repeatedly wiggle the Record mode switch. I dumped half a can of contact cleaner on the selection switch. Although it does sometimes get briefly the left channel sound until fades of again. Sadly I don't go enough on the boombox side of this forum, could anyone provide me with the guidance to fix this issue?
unfortuneatly not. I ended up soldering a resistor in place where the tape head previously connected then soldered in an aux cable. i saw this mod done in a coolguyclem video on youtube.
