I would keep in mind that you are unlikely to find anything worth having with a Manufacturers Guarantee these days, actually being able to check a box out before parting with any cash is a big plus. While I like the Sony ZS range like the one in my Avatar the CD players in two out of my three have stopped working and the cassette deck in the one with a working CD player now chews tapes. I am tempted to suggest a recent box like a Sony Xplod but even those must be about 15 years old now. Just keep a look out for anything local. A couple of years ago I went in a charity shop to find a couple checking out all the functions of a Sanyo CD Radio Cassette priced at just £12 before buying it.
