Hi, the cable on my MDR3 L2 is decomposing and will soon have left this earth. I'd like to replace it but can't find any spare parts. What cable or other headphones (that are cheaper preferably) could i cannibalise on? Also should I avoid trying to replace them all the way inside the driver and just do a cut and solder in the cable near the flex joint and cover it with some shrink tube and try to make it look good? Thanks
Bump! I also have the same issue with my MDR-3. I wanted to find a cable of the same gauge wire and with the 1/4” jack at the end. Good luck my friend. I have looked all over and can’t find squat. I’ve considered cannibalising another set of headphones for the cord. I’ll definitely follow this thread!
