AIWA V-700 from 1983. It's bigger than a micro stereo but still pretty neat.

I'm cheating because this unit is so cool looking! Almost straight out of 2001 a Space Odyssey. The TEAC Soundscape ACE from 1981

Sansui was mostly exporting crappy plastic stereos in 1984, while it looks cool the Sansui M900B might be part of that group. It's too bad, check out how neat the turntable with keyboard look.

Had not seen that Aiwa before. Wonder what the acoustic microphones were supposed to do.

I grazed by that, I don't think I have any speakers like that but it's probably similar to a drum mic, I'll ask my music buddy tonight. I'll post the other mini system ads, they had a handful but I thought they were getting away from the subject since they weren't portable or small.

I think this is a new one, they all kind of look alike but it's one of my favorites because it's the system sitting on my desk right now and cranking some radio!

Interesting to see this small Hitachi. Back in the 1980s one of my managers had a very small HiFi which I recalled being a Hitachi but I couldn't find any pictures.
    This proves they made them.

I always called it the "Lo-D," and Hitachi named a lot of their equipment the same. The M1 and M2 are pretty close in design and available if you look around. If you're lucky you also score the super-rare flight case it fits into making it a true compo boombox.

This is a heavy well built stereo that can crank it up, even on the small speakers; it's slightly larger than the AIWA 22 Footprint.

The Hitachi J2 is a new one for me, I've never seen it before, of course now a million will show up for sale. The cool white dial faces remind me of late 70's Technics Recievers that did the same thing.
