Getting delighted today to receive more of these DBX tapes. Something to zest me up after a hard days work.

The sound reproduction is priceless! Damn, it just as good as a CD.

Wow, that one with the 26th Grammy is awesome!
Thanks for the video, but I see you're playing it with a Nak that has no dbx to decode. so, are you using an external decoder?

    Hi Hugo,
I don't have a decoder, just play straight through the cassette deck. By the way, please check your inbox I just sent you some notes.

Hmm, then it should sound very tiny and with lots of treble. A recording made with dbx played without decoding sounds pretty bad. But when you properly decode it, then the magic comes and it sounds gorgeous. You must try it, really :nwink:
Take a look if you can get a dbx 224x or a similar decoder. They are very common in the US and reasonably cheap.
    ok, I'll check.

Looking at the cassette itself, seems like a Maxell UD. It's weird that they used a type I cassette for a 'professional quality', high MOL' and all that. Why not use a type II?

And suddenly, my Yamaha K-960 is justified. (Built-in dbx decoder!)
