I used to have a lot more. And I never bought many of the really expensive metal ones. But there are a few metals in there. But I think I have enough to get me through.
Nice, even some Scotch's made down the street from me! They tore the plant down about 10 years ago but it was long and huge. I've never found a "Thats" in the wild except the one time in Tokyo but they wanted a lot of money for it.
Neither did I. I used to get them on eBay when they were not so expensive. I cracked open a some of them to put a few Pink Floyd albums on. The Chromes sound great but it's essential you calibrate them to the deck. Otherwise you will think they are crap. I get funny looks walking around with an 80's Walkman attached to my belt playing the That's tapes.
That's what it's all about! I bought my M70 in Shibuya a couple years ago and even the Japanese were giving me funny looks walking through the super-crowded areas. So much for getting old.....
I have about one third of what you show. About a dozen of Type II tapes. I think about paring my stock down. I got my deck fixed last year, but haven't recorded a single tape since. I have two metal tapes, both are used. I wanted to re-record them, but could not think of something so special that warranted a - gasp! - metal tape. One of these has a 1972 Rolling Stones live show, sounds ok-ish. Another has live Emerson, Lake & Palmer show in atrocious quality, recorded probably off the radio - why would one use a metal tape for that? In any case, I have no idea what to record on them. Using regular Type I was much simpler, I just used them on a whim. Maybe if I always used to have only Metal, I would have used them on a whim as well.
