Ok! So, here’s my recap of the year, musically speaking.

The Jewels. The unstoppable return of the vinyl (although I suspect it never really left) and the walkman™ (Thank you, Guardians of the Galaxy!). La La Land and it’s jazzy OST. YesYears, one of my wife’s present, much better (IMHO) than In a Word: Yes. The edition of Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds; two cassette tapes in a blue box with booklet and lyrics. Stereo2Go.

Prominent. Black Sabbath ‎– Black Box : The Complete Original Black Sabbath 1970–1978. An awesome box; CD’s come as individual digipaks, with replica LP art, collected in 2 slipcases (1970–1972 & 1973–1978). Everything comes packaged inside a 15 x 27 cm. felt lined box. Also comes with a bonus DVD, and a carefully designed book (by Geezer Butler and Tony Iommy), containing lyrics & a biography of the band’s early years. Sadly, it’s cd format.

Disappoinmets. The WIKOO Super USB Cassette Capture. Disappointing: cheap plastic, bad sound. If you sneeze hard next to it, the cassette head will just hang. Robert Plant’s Carry Fire.

Trash. Generally speaking, the current outlook of the popular music. Lack of ideas, the same formula time after time and Justin Bieber.

    Happy New Year!!!

My recap of the year was a recap of Linn Lingo power supply: took me over two years to get its SM and calibrate properly so that I could post it on eBay with clear consciousness... See it there!

If seriously, then it was the book "The Song Machine" which finally flipped me onto so-called Classical music, 90+% of my Sweet Spot time. The book is a real horror story, must-read for anyone still tuning onto "Top 30" hoping to find something out there. To be frank, I could not finish the book, it is too disturbing... what innocently started as "all that she wants is another baby" by my then fav Ace of Base (finally explained to me that Swedes were not concerned with meaning of the English words) got degraded into "hook-refrain-hook" for mentally challenged... Trash got analyzed, quantified, and served thru the pretty moves of Chicken Farm puppets...... Frank Farian should have patented his idea of BoneyM stint, he would have become Bill Gates of music industry!

My discovery on the last day of 2017: Alan Hovhaness Symphony No.50 "Mount St.Helens"(DELOS DE3711): the Eruption finale shreds the speakers of my lowly all-NaimAudio stereo!!! Think of Holst's Mars, The Bringer of War and Kitaro... Majestic, but not in sublime way, it will cleanse and expel all Evil Spirits out of your listening area!!!... Think Side One of Tubular Bells in the hands of a Master of classical..., I still cannot believe that I had this tune in my collection for years but never played it..! Shall dig deeper into my "vaults" and will keep u posted...
    For Now:
Happy New Year, and let Analog be with you, my friends!!!
    :)
