So on a recent trip to NYC i thought i would have a look around some record shops and buy some tapes. This went well and i came away with about a dozen or so rare hip hop tapes which i was very pleased with, i also got a lead on some cool spots to look for walkmans and i found these two beauties:

A nice Sony WM-109 in glorious white, this one really is in amazing shape, very little wear of any kind and looks very little use. I have cleaned, lubed, rebelted and head cleaned and it works great. No original headphones so i will need to look out for these.

Then there is the WM-F10II, such a cool player and its miniaturization is amazing, its so tactile and a joy to hold. As above she has been gone through and is fully working but i may need to bit of servisol on the headphone jack.

A couple of great finds tho and so happy to bring some souvenirs home from Brooklyn. I'd like to say a special thanks to the lady i dealt with but i dont even know her name and im sure she will never ever read this but if she does im sure she will remember me, eternally grateful.

How did you get your dog to not move while taking the photos? Seriously, those are awesome finds, my buddy came up a few years ago and he loves thrift stores, so we went and I found a stack of NOS metal cassettes and a DAT rack mount player. Sometimes getting out of your normal space can be very rewarding, let me know if you ever get to Minneapolis, we're not as big but there's some gems out there.

Nice to know you can find good Walkman in a store anywhere still. I am a regular visitor to thrift stores and vinyl shops but I never see any Walkman for sale.
Would you send me details of the Brooklyn address. My friend is in NY for another week. Might ask him to swing by and take a look inside?
    Cheers

I've got to say: Sony certainly earned the bragging rights to being able to make such small & useful devices like these. I wonder if they ever made one so loaded with functions, like the one on the right, that was also auto-reverse?

Add recording and TV sound to the list! You'll get The WM-F202. Among the nicest looking series, in my opinion.
