They were a popular TV manufacturer, designing and making TVs in UK. A tie in with JVC meant they were one of the main supporters of the VHS video format. However, their VCRs were just JVC models rebadged Ferguson. Similarly, I expect this model was made for them by some other company, and there were probably AKAs of it sold under different brands elsewhere in the world.
